Male patients

We recognise that there may be particular obstacles for men in need of access to specialist eating disorder services.

We aim to provide services that men will feel comfortable to access and use. Whilst we cannot guarantee that there will always be more than one male patient engaged in the inpatient and day patient programmes, we can be sure that there will always be male members of staff available to support them. Our recruitment strategy ensures that there are male members of both the nursing and therapy teams, so that male patients can have access a male keyworker and therapist if they wish.

Facilities for male patients

Vincent Square has a suite of rooms specifically for men with two individual bedrooms, a bathroom/shower room and quiet room with television, Skype and computer facilities. The rooms are specifically sited in the unit to provide a balance between the need for privacy and the need for integration with the patient group and treatment programme.
